The Tailings and Mine Waste Conference provides a forum for presenting the state-of-the-art with respect to mill tailings and mine waste and to discuss current and future issues facing the mining and environmental communities. The program will include sessions by practitioners and recognized experts on the general themes of the Conference.

Mine Waste and Tailings Stewardship Conference 2021 Building on the huge success of MWT 2018 held in Brisbane in July 2018 Mine Waste and Tailings Stewardship 2021 Conference – Towards Safe Mine Waste Management – will be held again in Brisbane 1-2 July 2021 (postponed from July 2020 due to COVID-19).
Conference program Mine Waste and Tailings 2021 will explore the latest developments in all aspects of life cycle waste rock and tailings management from site selection and design to post-closure care.
Tailings 2021 is organized to offer a forum where executives professionals and academics from the Global Mining Industry can learn and analyze the latest developments and best practices in the transportation disposal control and monitoring of conventional thickened paste and filtered tailing storage facilities.
The proceedings in this work present 60 papers on mine and mill tailings and mine waste as well as current and future issues facing the mining and environmental communities. This includes matters dealing with technical capabilities and developments regulations and environmental concerns.

The Tailings and Mine Waste conference will be held in Keystone Colorado November 15-18 2020. Short courses will run on Sunday November 15 and the main conference will take place Monday through Wednesday November 16 17 and 18.
Tailings are a common by-product of the mining process. They are typically created as mined ore is crushed ground and processed to separate the valuable minerals and create a saleable concentrate product. The waste from this process is called tailings.
